What is Thirst Youth?

Thirst Youth is a fun and vibrant community of young
people from the local area. It is led by a group of
experienced young adults who seek to care for each
individual who comes along.

Thirst is a Christian youth group, which means that
our program is centred around engaging creatively
with the Bible and seeking to be more like Jesus in our
everyday lives. We believe that God is the maker of all
things, including fun, so each week we seek to get to
know Him more in a fun and safe environment.

Who Runs Thirst Youth?

Thirst is run by an experienced group of young adults from the local Earlwood area. Some are uni students, some are teachers and others work in offices. Each leader is passionate about helping young people know Jesus. Every single team member has formal Safe Ministry Training and a current Working with Children Check number.

The leaders make every effort to make sure that each young person is listened to, cared for and encouraged in a safe, honest environment.

Fridays and Sundays

On Friday nights from 7-9pm, we make our big group small in what
we call D Teams (discipleship teams). It is pretty simple,
we play games, eat food, read and chat about the bible
then pray for each other. D-teams are designed to be
relaxed, safe discussion groups lead by experienced
youth leaders.

Every Sunday during term time we have a program for years 7-9 – Breakfast Club – where the youth are engaged in a Bible study of their own for the purpose of discipleship and age-geared learning.

Sunday service happens every Sunday night at 6:00-7:30pm
at Earlwood Anglican Church. We join together with
young adults from Earlwood Anglican for a contempory
style service. We sing, pray and hear from the Bible,
followed by a light supper with our church family.

Social Media

Communicating in our modern age is increasingly complicated, that’s why we at Thirst Youth want to provide four ways to keep in touch with what’s happening. Keep tuned in for news, photos, videos, competitions and much more.

Camps and Special Events

We know that the best way to get to know each other
and build a community of young people is spending time
together outside of normal term time. This is why we have
planned time away together throughout the year.

Camp Earl (January)
This is our summer youth camp for the whole youth group
which is filled to the brim with fun. We stay for 4 days at a
local conference centre with a massive pool and oval. This
annual camp is a great start to our year at Thirst!
Holiday Club (July)
Our holiday kid’s program is a great opportunity for our
youth to develop their leadership skills. The youth make
new friends in a positive structured environment and try
their hand at drama, music and public speaking as they
spend the week teaching children about Jesus.
LiT– Leaders in Training
www.youthworks.net/lit
This 5 day conference is for youth who want to develop
as future leaders. It pushes them to think more about
their own faith and how they can use their gifts to
serve.
KYCK Youth Conference (April)

http://www.kyck.kcc.org.au
This is a weekend conference for everyone at Thirst.
Together with 2000+ other youth from across NSW, they
encourage one another in their love of God, His word
and His people.

Other Special Events
In addition to our regular events, Thirst will also attend
things such as a local area combined youth event,
various social nights and exciting outings.
